JAPAN BY TRAIN

9 NIGHTS / 11 DAYS
  • Day 1: USA - Tokyo (Japan)

    Flight with a good itinerary.

  • Day 2: Tokyo

Arrive in the vibrant city of Tokyo, where tradition and innovation coexist, offering a unique blend of ancient temples, modern architecture, world-class cuisine, and rich cultural experiences.

As you leave the airport, you'll find our local representatives directing you to your shuttle to take your transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax or start exploring the city. In the evening, we recommend exploring the sophisticated Roppongi district for an unforgettable nightlife experience with its refined restaurants and cocktail bars.

  • Day 3: Tokyo

Breakfast at the hotel. Around 9:00 AM, meet your guide at your hotel and depart for a tour of the capital using public transportation. Begin your day with a photo stop in front of the Imperial Palace, the official residence of the Emperor of Japan. Although the interior is not open to the public, the majestic gates and the iconic Nijubashi Bridge offer a perfect introduction to Tokyo’s imperial heritage. Next, head to the Tsukiji Outer Market, where you’ll stroll through lively alleys filled with fresh seafood, traditional sweets, Japanese teas, and local crafts. Continue to Asakusa, one of Tokyo’s oldest neighborhoods, to visit the famous Senso-ji Temple and explore Nakamise Street, lined with shops offering souvenirs and handmade goods. In the afternoon, enjoy a traditional Japanese lunch in a local restaurant before heading to the bustling district of Shinjuku, where modern skyscrapers and vibrant commercial streets highlight Tokyo’s energetic contrasts. At around 5:00 PM, return to your hotel for dinner at leisure, and an overnight stay in Tokyo. (Breakfast - Lunch)

*If the Tsukiji Outer Market is closed, it will be replaced with a visit to Ameyoko Market.

  • Day 4: Tokyo

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, enjoy a free day to further explore the dynamic city of Tokyo at your own pace. This vast metropolis is made up of unique neighborhoods, each offering a different side of the city’s charm. For a tranquil start, visit Meiji Jingu, a serene shrine nestled in a lush forest, then walk to Harajuku to experience Tokyo’s vibrant youth culture and colorful fashion. Nearby, Omotesando offers elegant architecture and upscale shopping, while Shibuya dazzles with its famous scramble crossing and lively atmosphere. You may also wish to explore Ueno, known for its spacious park, excellent museums, zoo, and the bustling Ameya-Yokocho market offering a glimpse of old Tokyo. For a change of scenery, consider venturing out to Odaiba, a futuristic man-made island offering shopping, entertainment, and waterfront views. Dinner on your own and overnight in Tokyo. (Breakfast)

  • Day 5: Tokyo - Mont Fuji - Tokyo

After breakfast at your hotel, your local guide will pick you up to begin your journey to Mount Fuji and Hakone. You will then travel by bus to Mount Fuji, Japan’s iconic symbol and highest peak, ascending via the Subaru Line to the 5th Station (or the highest accessible point) for breathtaking views above the clouds.

Upon arrival, enjoy a traditional Japanese lunch accompanied by a Japanese drum performance. Then, you will cruise on Lake Ashi, a scenic crater lake known for its tranquil waters and stunning views of Mount Fuji, before taking the ropeway up Mount Komagatake to admire Hakone National Park and visit the spiritual Mototsumiya Shrine. Transfer to Odawara Station and return to Tokyo by Shinkansen (bullet train). The tour ends upon arrival at Tokyo Station in the late afternoon. Make your way back to the hotel, and continue your exploring Tokyo at your own pace. (Breakfast - Lunch)

*Please note that depending on the weather Mount Fuji may not be visible during the day.

  • Day 6: Tokyo - Kyoto

As your main luggage will be sent separately, please pack a light bag with essentials for your first night in Kyoto. Your main luggage will arrive the following day. Payment for the luggage delivery service will be made on-site ($). Please note that you may be required to drop off your luggage at the hotel reception the evening before.

After breakfast at the hotel, your local guide will walk you to the train station, where you’ll board the Shinkansen bullet train to Kyoto. Upon arrival in the afternoon, your hotel is just a short 10-minute walk away. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure.

Kyoto is a must-visit city, renowned for its serene temples, traditional wooden houses, and exquisite gardens that capture the essence of Japan’s cultural heritage. Once the imperial capital, Kyoto offers a journey into the country’s rich past. You may choose to explore some of its most iconic landmarks, such as the stunning golden pavilion of Kinkaku-ji, the peaceful rock gardens of Ryoan-ji, or the breathtaking hillside temple of Kiyomizu-dera. With its refined atmosphere and timeless charm, Kyoto truly is the heart of traditional Japan. Overnight in Kyoto. (Breakfast)

  • Day 7: Kyoto

Breakfast at the hotel. Around 9:00 AM, meet your guide at your hotel and depart for a tour of Kyoto by public transportation. Begin with the famous Fushimi Inari Shrine, known for its thousands of vibrant red torii gates winding through a peaceful forest path. Then, visit Nijo Castle, once home to the Tokugawa shoguns, admired for its beautiful gardens and unique “nightingale floors” that chirp underfoot.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before discovering the lively Nishiki Market, packed with traditional food stalls and local specialties. Later, take part in a serene Japanese tea ceremony, a graceful and meditative ritual that embodies harmony, respect, and tranquility. Guided by a tea master, you'll learn the precise movements and etiquette passed down through generations, gaining meaningful insight into this cherished aspect of Japanese culture. Conclude your day with a stroll through Gion, Kyoto’s historic geisha district, lined with charming wooden townhouses. Return to the hotel at around 5:00 PM by public transport. Wander through its iconic Bamboo Grove, admire the scenic views along the Katsura River, and cross the famous Togetsukyo Bridge. Arashiyama is also home to tranquil temples and charming shops, making it a perfect spot to soak in the natural beauty and cultural richness of Kyoto. Alternatively, you may join an optional tour ($) with our local representative to discover Hiroshima, home to the Peace Memorial Park, and Miyajima, a picturesque island known for its scenic beauty and iconic floating torii gate. Overnight in Kyoto. (Breakfast)

Breakfast at the hotel. Around 8:30 AM, meet your guide at the hotel, then walk to the station to take the train to Nara, Japan’s first permanent capital. Visit Todai-ji, home to the world’s largest wooden building and a massive bronze Buddha statue. Then stroll through Nara Park, famous for its sacred deers, before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant.

Next, head to Osaka by train with your local guide. Explore the retro Shinsekai district with its iconic Tsutenkaku Tower, followed by a walk through the vibrant Dotonbori area, known for its neon lights and lively atmosphere. Finally, walk to your accommodation, where the guided service ends, leaving you free to enjoy your evening. Overnight in Osaka. (Breakfast - Lunch)

  • Day 10: Osaka
