  • Day 3: Amman - Madaba - Mt. Nebo - Shoubak Castle - PetraBreakfast at the hotel. Departure toward Madaba, a city famous for its mosaic map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land from the 6th century and for its spectacular Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics. Continuation to Mt. Nebo, a 810 metres (2,651 ft) high mountain mentioned in the Bible as the place where Moses was granted a view of the Promised Land that he would never enter.You will then drive to Shoubak, where an impressive castle stands as a lonely reminder of former Crusader glory. Known to the crusaders as Montreal Castle, it was built in 1115 by King Baldwin I of Jerusalem and owned by the royal family for less than a century before falling to foreign invaders. Arrival in Petra in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight in Petra. (Breakfast-Dinner)
  • Day 4: PetraAfter breakfast at the hotel, you will start your full-day tour of the legendary Nabatean city of Petra. Considered as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, Petra has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985. You will enter the city through a 1-km long narrow gorge which is flanked on both sides by 80 metres (262 ft) high cliffs with dazzling colors and amazing rock formations. The site is massive and contains hundreds of elaborate rock-cut tombs, roman-style theatres, temples dedicated to gods and kings, sacrificial altars, colonnaded streets and of course the Al Khazneh or "The Treasury of Petra". In the afternoon, enjoy free time to explore Petra on your own. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Petra. (Breakfast-Dinner)
  • Day 5: Petra - Little Petra - Wadi Rum - AmmanBreakfast at the hotel. In the morning you will visit Little Petra, an archeological site included in Petra's inscription as a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its ancient buildings sculpted out of solid red sandstone. A suburb of the city of Petra, Little Petra was the place where Nabateans used to entertain their guests. It was one of the main commercial areas of Petra, the entry and exit point for the trade routes to the north and north-west.Later you will explore Wadi Rum on a 2-hour jeep ride into the Jordanian desert! Wadi Rum was described by T.E. Lawrence, aka Lawrence of Arabia, as "vast, echoing and god-like", and is dubbed by the locals "valley of the Moon". You will then be transferred from Petra to your hotel in Amman. Dinner and overnight in Amman. (Breakfast-Dinner)
  • Day 6: Amman - Jerash – Dead Sea - AmmanBreakfast at the hotel and departure for a panoramic city tour of Amman to see the old and new parts of this beautiful city. You will then head northward to Jerash to explore this roman city with a local English-speaking guide. This 2-hour tour will take you back to the ancient time thanks to well-preserved paved and colonnaded streets, soaring hilltop temples, theatres, spacious public squares, plazas, baths, fountains from the 1st century A.D.Transfer to the Dead Sea area, one of the saltiest lake in the world, in a beautiful 5* resort to relax and take a swim in the Dead Sea.     Arrival at the airport in Cairo, a bustling metropolis that seamlessly blends ancient history with modern life. You will be greeted by our local representatives after exiting the customs and transferred to your hotel in Cairo. The rest of the day is free for you to relax and enjoy the facilities of your hotel.   • Day 8: Cairo

    After breakfast at the hotel, you will discover the world-famous pyramids of Giza. On the Giza Plateau just outside of Cairo, you will be impressed by the Pyramid of Cheops, the largest of the three pyramids, the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and the only one to remain largely intact. With the head of a pharaoh and the body of a lion, the Sphinx of Giza is watching over the pyramids. Enjoy some free time to wander around this amazing site, take pictures and visit the interior chambers ($) of the Great Pyramid of Giza.

    You will have a brief stop to discover how the papyrus is made before heading for lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will visit the Egyptian Museum of Cairo, home to the world’s largest collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts. Return at the end at the end of the day.   • Day 9: Cairo - Aswan (Beginning of the Nile cruise)

    Early transfer to the airport in Cairo for your flight to Aswan (Breakfast box offered by the hotel).

    Arrival in Aswan and transfer to the port to embark on your Nile cruise. Following lunch on board, you will visit the Aswan High Dam which is providing electricity to the whole country. Your visit continues with a small boat ride to reach the beautiful Philae Temple, located on a small island, and dedicated to the goddess Isis.

    You will then take the road to see the unfinished Obelisk, the largest known ancient obelisk. You will return to the ship and relax on the ship ‘sundeck. Dinner and overnight on board. (Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner)

  • Day 10: Aswan - Kom Ombo - Edfu

    Breakfast on board. This morning, you have the opportunity to discover the most impressive temple of Egypt: Abu Simbel ($) or simply relax on the ship. Lunch on board while the ship is sailing toward Kom Ombo, where you will visit a temple dedicated to the gods Sobek and Horus. You will discover a Nilometer on site and a small museum displaying mummified crocodiles.Return to the ship and navigation to Edfu. Dinner and overnight on board. (Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner)

    Optional excursion ($) to Abu Simbel ($):

    Around 3:30 AM, you will be transferred by bus to Abu Simbel, located 280 km away (Breakfast bags given). Upon arrival, you will visit two magnificent temples, surrounded by a lake, built by the pharaoh Ramses II. The 100-foot- high Great Temple is one of the most breathtaking temples of Egypt with the 4 statues of Ramses II. You will have approx. two hours to wander these historic and sacred sites before making your way back to the ship for lunch.

  • Day 11:   Edfu - Esna - Luxor

    After breakfast on board, you will visit the temple dedicated to Horus, in Edfu, which is one of the best-preserved ancient temples in Egypt. It was built between 237 and 57 BC. You will go back to the ship to have lunch on board. Enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the Nile while you are cruising toward Esna and Luxor. Around 5PM, you will reach the Unesco World Heritage Site of Luxor to watch the sunset on this stunning ancient temple dedicated to the god Amun. Return to the ship for dinner and overnight on board. (Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner)

  • Day 12: Luxor

    Breakfast on board. In the early morning, you can get the chance to fly on a hot air balloon ($) before heading to the famous Valley of the Kings with the group. Located on the west bank of the Nile, the Valley of the Kings is a burial ground that houses the tombs of many pharaohs. You will visit 3 beautiful tombs with your guide and have the opportunity to visit the famous tomb of Tutankhamun ($). You will also stop at the Colossi of Memnon which are two massive stone statues of the Pharaoh Amenhotep. 

    You will then take the direction of the stunning Temple of Hatshepsut, dubbed the “Sublime of the Sublimes” where you will learn about one of the only Queen who reigned in Egypt.   • Day 13: Luxor (End of the Nile cruise)

    Luxor, located along the banks of the Nile River, is often referred to as the “world’s greatest open-air museum,” and is renowned for its rich history and pharaonic heritage. After breakfast on board, you will disembark from the ship and will visit the famous temple of Karnak, one of the largest and most impressive temple complexes in the world. It is renowned for its grandiose columns, massive pylons, and intricate hieroglyphics, providing a glimpse into the religious and architectural achievements of ancient Egypt. Your visit continues to the Unesco World Heritage Site of Luxor, a stunning ancient temple dedicated to the god Amun. After the visits, you will be transferred to your hotel in Luxor. Yes, you can book a single room for this tour, offering you comfort and privacy in your own space. Please note that single rooms are thoughtfully designed to offer a cozy and comfortable stay, typically featuring a single bed and a space slightly smaller than a standard double room.

Will there be someone waiting for us at the airport?

Yes, our local operators will welcome you at the airport and directly transfer you to the hotel.

Is it possible to book additional tours?

Yes, there are is one optional tour offered for this package: Abu Simbel excursion. To make sure you secure your seats, it is preferable to book them when making your reservation. If you are undecided, you will be able to book them with your guide depending on availability and pay in cash or credit card in USD.

Are tips included?

For Jordan, you are free to tip your guide and drivers at your discretion - we suggest 3 JD for the guide and 2 for the driver / day and per person. For Egypt, the tips are to be paid directly at destination to your guide when you get to Cairo. They are in USD and have to be paid in cash. Feel free to tip at your discretion other local services such as the hotel, cruise ship and restaurant staffs.

What is the average cost of a meal?

This organized tour package takes care of most of your meals which will minimize your expenses. The ones that are not included will be taken at local restaurants where you will have the choice of a buffet. The cost of a meal is $15 CAD / $11 USD on average.

Is it possible to add extra nights?

Yes, you may add extra nights to your package. We can add nights in Amman before or in Cairo after the tour. Simply make the request with your reservation agent who will change your flights accordingly. We strongly recommend including the same hotels as we will be able to reschedule your transfers. The price will be confirmed by your agent depending on availability.

Is it safe to go on this tour?

Yes, this package is very secure. At all times, you will be taken care of by your local expert guide who will accompany you everywhere you need to go. The places you will visit along the Valley of the Nile are no longer under travel advisory from the Gorvernment of Canada. All of our clients who took this tour have felt very secure throughout their entire stay. They have expressed their satisfaction to have finally been able to make their dream come true.

How should I dress?

While tradition is very important in the Egyptian and Jordanian cultures, you will be able to dress to your liking without too much trouble. You are not expected to wear local clothing. In public places, it's okay to wear short-sleeves, knee-length dresses, and shorts. As a rule and just like anywhere else, we encourage travelers to be respectful of the local traditions.

How long do we stay in Petra?

You have full day in Petra - Day 4. The tour with the guide is about 3 hours (horse ride and Treasury visit), the rest of the day is free. You may decide to take a 4x4 or carriage to move around more quickly as Petra is a very big site. You will meet your guide back at the Entrance at an agreed upon time.

Do we get to swim in the Dead Sea?

Yes, you will have free time to enjoy a dip in the Dead Sea in the afternoon of day 6.

Do we need a visa?

In Jordan, the visa fee is already included in your package.

American citizens can obtain their visas upon arrival in Egypt. For Canadian citizens, a visa is currently required from the consulate or an Egyptian embassy before traveling; we will assist you with the process. However, starting December 1, 2024, Canadians will also be able to obtain their visas upon arrival.

Is the bus equipped with toilets, AC, Wi-fi?

Yes, the buses have free A/C & toilet. The bus also stops every two hours for 15 minutes. In Jordan, Wi-Fi is accessible on board.

The US dollar is also widely accepted in Egypt. We recommend bringing about $200 USD / person in cash.

Is single occupancy available ?

Yes, you can book a single room for this tour, offering you comfort and privacy in your own space. Please note that single rooms are thoughtfully designed to offer a cozy and comfortable stay, typically featuring a single bed and a space slightly smaller than a standard double room.

Will there be someone waiting for us at the airport?

Yes, our local operators will welcome you at the airport and directly transfer you to the hotel.

Is it possible to book additional tours?

Yes, there are is one optional tour offered for this package: Abu Simbel excursion. To make sure you secure your seats, it is preferable to book them when making your reservation. If you are undecided, you will be able to book them with your guide depending on availability and pay in cash or credit card in USD.

Are tips included?

For Jordan, you are free to tip your guide and drivers at your discretion - we suggest 3 JD for the guide and 2 for the driver / day and per person. For Egypt, the tips are to be paid directly at destination to your guide when you get to Cairo. They are in USD and have to be paid in cash. Feel free to tip at your discretion other local services such as the hotel, cruise ship and restaurant staffs.

What is the average cost of a meal?

This organized tour package takes care of most of your meals which will minimize your expenses. The ones that are not included will be taken at local restaurants where you will have the choice of a buffet. The cost of a meal is $15 CAD / $11 USD on average.

Is it possible to add extra nights?

Yes, you may add extra nights to your package. We can add nights in Amman before or in Cairo after the tour. Simply make the request with your reservation agent who will change your flights accordingly. We strongly recommend including the same hotels as we will be able to reschedule your transfers. The price will be confirmed by your agent depending on availability.

Is it safe to go on this tour?

Yes, this package is very secure. At all times, you will be taken care of by your local expert guide who will accompany you everywhere you need to go. The places you will visit along the Valley of the Nile are no longer under travel advisory from the Gorvernment of Canada. All of our clients who took this tour have felt very secure throughout their entire stay. They have expressed their satisfaction to have finally been able to make their dream come true.

How should I dress?

While tradition is very important in the Egyptian and Jordanian cultures, you will be able to dress to your liking without too much trouble. You are not expected to wear local clothing. In public places, it's okay to wear short-sleeves, knee-length dresses, and shorts. As a rule and just like anywhere else, we encourage travelers to be respectful of the local traditions.

How long do we stay in Petra?

You have full day in Petra - Day 4. The tour with the guide is about 3 hours (horse ride and Treasury visit), the rest of the day is free. You may decide to take a 4x4 or carriage to move around more quickly as Petra is a very big site. You will meet your guide back at the Entrance at an agreed upon time.

Do we get to swim in the Dead Sea?

Yes, you will have free time to enjoy a dip in the Dead Sea in the afternoon of day 6.

Do we need a visa?

In Jordan, the visa fee is already included in your package.

American citizens can obtain their visas upon arrival in Egypt. For Canadian citizens, a visa is currently required from the consulate or an Egyptian embassy before traveling; we will assist you with the process. However, starting December 1, 2024, Canadians will also be able to obtain their visas upon arrival.

Is the bus equipped with toilets, AC, Wi-fi?

Yes, the buses have free A/C & toilet. The bus also stops every two hours for 15 minutes. In Jordan, Wi-Fi is accessible on board.

Currency: Jordanian Dinar and Egyptian Pound.

The US dollar is also widely accepted in Egypt. We recommend bringing about $200 USD / person in cash.
